After four rounds, B Caiello leads the Open, Anderson leads the Amateur!

 Ten players competed in the penultimate round of Ashland XXXIII. Ben Caiello (2015) outlasted Daniel Smith (1395) to stay on top with a perfect 4 points. Dan Caiello (1646) benefited from an opening miscue by Dan Quigley (1820) to pick up the point and stay in clear second with 3 points. Lendel Robinson (1760) returned to the board and dug deep to claim the point from Shaun McCoy (1398) in a tough endgame.

In the Amateur Section,  Jordan Anderson (1252) continued his fine play with a win over quickly improving Jared Whiting (804) to stay in clear first as Akshita Jindal (UNR) claimed the point over Birney Blind (1235) to stay in clear second with 3 points.

The Final Round of Ashland XXXIII is Thursday, June 27. There will be NO Club Meeting on Thursday, July 4. Ashland Quick XXXVIII will be Thursday, July 11.

This Thursday, Cola Chess Club Director Bob Halliday will be Locked Up! It's not too late to help get him out in time for the club meeting that evening by going HERE.

The Border Battle team is almost complete but there are still a few spots open. Two players are needed for each class:  

Expert (2000-2199)  Gene Nix
A (1800-1999)  David Causey - Ian Morton
B (1600-1799)  Dan Caiello  - Steve Boshears
C (1400-1599)  
D (1200-1399) Jordan Anderson (Sat only) - Shaun McCoy
E (1000-1199)
