Rabulan & Caiello lead after three!! Dunlap on top of Amateur Section!

Sixteen players competed in the third round of Ashland XXXII. Leo Rabulan (2112) defended board 1 from Chris Labrecque (1632) to move into a tie for first with Ben, who took a bye this week. Dan Quigley (1801) broke into the win column scoring an upset over Keith Eubanks (2054) on board 2. Paul Potylicki (1509) settled peacefully with Mike Mayfield (1438) and Ralph Buske (1341) picked up the point over Daniel Smith (1420).

In the Amateur Section, Christian Dunlap (1066) continues to improve scoring the upset over Andrew Manion (1340) to move into clear first. Shaun McCoy (1414) bounced back with a win over Steve Rocheleau (UNR), Richard Watts (1246) escaped to take the point from Jared Whiting (780) and Jordan Anderson (1171) won over Jaime Sanyer (1258) 

Round 4 is Thursday, May 2.

Under 1400 tournament at St Andrews will begin on May 6. It will be a three round swiss, one round a week, Game 45 for players with a May published rating Under 1400 or Unrated . Entry fee is $2, no prizes. Register by 6:45, rounds start at 7:00. You must be a USCF member to play in the rated tournament. Can join onsite. Casual play available also.

The Border Battle is being formed and will be in Cornelius, NC, just above Charlotte, on July 13 & 14. Two players are needed for each class: Expert (2000-2199) A (1800-1999) B (1600-1799) C (1400-1599) D (1200-1399) & E (1000-1199).
