Sixteen players competed in Ashland Quick XXI with a Three-way tie in the Top Quad!! Philipp Lamby (2120), Keith Eubanks (1965) and Paul King (1873) all scored two points to finish in a tie for first. In the second quad, Klaus Johnson (1800) and Ben Caiello (1535) drew their game to tie for first with 2.5 points. Quad Three saw another tie at the top as Dan Caiello (1269) and David Boyd (1197) drew their battle and both finished with 2.5 points. Shiva Balasubramanian (1066) took the only clear first of the night with 2.5 points yielding a draw to second place finisher Daniel Smith (952).

Next week, Oct 28 is Casual Night. Open night for casual play and we will also have a Bughouse Tournament! This will be just for fun. No entry fees, no prizes, Just Bragging Rights! No membership required!! Anyone can play in this tournament for Free!
Registration will end at 7:50. Round 1 will start at 8:00. Round Robin if six teams or less, five round swiss if seven teams or more. Teams can be formed on site.

The 71st South Carolina Championships will be Nov 5-7 here in Columbia at the Hilton Garden Inn-Harbison. The early registration deadline is 11/3 but you will be able to register at the club for the early entry fee of $60 (a $10 savings, must pay when registering) on Thurs, Nov 4. Full details are HERE.
Here's a chess show that you may have missed. ChessTV (formerly World Chess News) is a half-hour long TV-show about chess, aired weekly on local channels in Sweden and on the Internet. The ChessTV team consists of five siblings from Stockholm, Sweden, currently in the ages between 21 and 14. Adriana, Antonia and Amelia Krzymowska (23-20) and Alfred and Albert Krzymowski (18 and 16) created the idea and concept of the show. They do a good job with it. Check it out:
