After two rounds of the U1200 Tournament at the St Andrews Regional Library, Jerry Davis (727) leads with 2 points after defeating Jared Whiting (833). Andrew Manion (1190) took the point from Jonathan Lober (UNR) and Kyle Lober (UNR) broke into the win column with a victory over Rod Franco (566). In extra games, Jordan Anderson (1156) won over Jonathan Lober (UNR) and Jared Whiting (833) scored over Rod Franco (566).
Round 3 is Monday, Feb 18. You can still come out and play rated games even if you missed the first two rounds. New players welcome!
Tournament Details:
Two sections, Rated (U1200) & Non-Rated. Four round Swiss.
You are not required to play every week and if you miss the first round you can join in later.
Register by 6:45 each week, round begins at 7:00.
Time control is 20 minutes for each player with a 3 second delay.
Some sets and clocks provided but please bring your tournament set and clock
if you have one.
United States Chess Federation (USCF) membership required for Rated Section, which can be purchased on site. Scholastic (under 13) memberships start at $8 and Adult memberships start at $15.
No membership required for Non-Rated section.
Entry fee $2.

Lamby wins Ashland Quick XXXV!!
Seventeen players participated in Ashland Quick XXXV making this our largest turnout of the year so far!
In the Top Quad, Philipp Lamby (2089) returned and posted a perfect 3-0 as Ben Caiello (1720) finished in second ahead of new club member Leo Rabulan (2085) and Keith Eubanks (1953). The Amateur Quad saw Dan Quigley (1798) finish 3-0 surviving a crazy ending in the third round to win over Randall Gingerich (1560) who finished second ahead of Adam Shaw (1654) and Lendel Robinson (1532).
The lower section became a swiss with nine players. Andrew Manion (1190) finished a perfect 3-0 to take the top spot ahead of Chris Labrecque (1557) and Shaun McCoy (1235) who were tied a 2-1.
Next week, Thursday, Feb 14 is Casual Night. Good night for new players to visit the club!
The Club Championship begins on Feb 21.
